A modified CMA equalizer for the removal of length dependent local minima in AR channels
نویسندگان
چکیده
Finite length CMA equalizers contain undesired minima termed Length Dependent Local Minima (LDLM). We note that for auto-regressive (AR) channels, the equalizer output is correlated with a delayed input at these minima. This property is then used to modify the CMA cost function and remove the LDLM in AR channels. Permission to publish this abstract separately is granted.

Adaptive Blind Multi - ChannelEqualization for Multiple
This paper investigates adaptive blind equalization for multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) channels and its application to blind separation of multiple signals received by antenna arrays in communication systems. The performance analysis is presented for the CMA equalizer used in MIMO channels. Our analysis results indicate that double innnite-length MIMO-CMA equalizer can recover one of...
متن کاملThe local minima of fractionally-spaced CMA blind equalizer cost function in the presence of channel noise
We study the local minima relocation of the fractionally spaced Constant Modulus Algorithm(FSE-CMA) cost function in the presence of noise. Local minima move in a particular direction as the noise power increases and their number may be eventually reduced. In such cases the performance of FSE-CMA may fail to adequately reduce inter symbol interference (ISI), but achieve an approximated MMSE by ...
متن کاملLeaky constant modulus algorithms: sensitivity of local minima
We propose a new family of mixed constant modulus algorithms for the elimination of local minima associated with the fractionally spaced constant modulus algorithm in the presence of channel noise. A special case of this family is the Leaky Constant Modulus Algorithm (L-CMA). We show that L-CMA aims to minimise jointly the intersymbol interference (1%) and the noise gain introduced by the equal...
متن کاملNonStationary CMA for Decision Feedback Equalization of Markovian Time Varying Channels
In this paper, we propose a modified version of the Constant Modulus Algorithm (CMA) tailored for blind Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) of first order Markovian time varying channels. The proposed NonStationary CMA (NSCMA) is designed so that it explicitly takes into account the Markovian structure of the channel nonstationarity. Hence, unlike the classical CMA, the NSCMA is not blind with re...
متن کاملAdaptive MMSE Equalizer for Blind Fractional Spaced CMA Channel Equalization through LMS Algorithm
The adaptive algorithm has been widely used in the digital signal processing like channel estimation, channel equalization, echo cancellation, and so on. One of the most important adaptive algorithms is the LMS algorithm. We present in this paper an multiple objective optimization approach to fast blind channel equalization. By investigating first the performance (mean-square error) of the stan...
